Turnagain Arm Tour

This tour offers wildlife encounters up close!
Board your shuttle for the guided drive along spectacular Turnagain Arm. From beginning to end there are dramatic views of mountain scenery and the Cook Inlet.

There’s a good chance of viewing Dahl sheep, as well as some chance of seeing some of Cook Inlets 350 Beluga whales and an eagle or two. Your guide will share with you interesting facts about the history of the area from discovery by Captain Cook to the Gold Rush in in the late 1800’s to the devastating ’64 9.2 earthquake.

Portage Valley Road:

This is a highly recommended side trip and is a great way to end your wildlife tour. Along the Portage Road, there are several hanging glaciers that you will see at the base of the mountains from which they flow down.
